Obituary From "Ottumwa Courier," November 26, 1956: Mrs. Lulu Ellen Goodwin, 72, of Ottumwa route 6, died following a heart attack at 1:10 a.m. today, at Ottumwa hospital. Mrs. Goodwin was born August 26, 1884, at Rolla, Mo., the daughter of George W. and Druscilla Jones. The had lived in the Ottumwa area for the past 38 years. She was married February 23, 1924, in Ottumwa to Sherman T. Goodwin who died in 1953. Her survivors include the following children: Mrs. M. Isabelle Morgan, San Francisco; Bill McCloskey, Kansas City; Mrs. Irene Randolph, Ottumwa route 6, and Sherman Goodwin, Ottumwa route 4; Milo Goodwin, Leo Goodwin and Mrs. Luella Lewis, all of Ottumwa; 23 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Reece funeral home, in charge of the Rev. W.B. Friend. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery.
