Lydia Concordia Schubarth, the daughter of Claus and Pauline Thuron Steffens, was born January 12, 1894 at Wittenburg, Missouri and passed away at her home northeast of Potter Sunday, October 21, 1979. She was married to Arthur Schubarth on May 10, 1914 at Altenburg, Missouri. They resided at Wittenburg, Missouri until they moved to the Potter area in 1918. They had been charter members of St. Paul's Lutheran Church northeast of Potter. Mr. Schubarth preceded her in death on November 19, 1947. She had resided on the family farm until her death. Survivors include four sons, The Rev. George Schubarth of Torrington, Wyoming, Walter, Rudy, and Elmer Schubarth, all of Potter; two daughters, Mrs. Viola Hilpert and Mrs. Edna Hilpert, both of Potter; two brothers Rudy and Ferdinand Steffens, both of Wittenburg, Missouri; one sister, Mrs. Ottilie Schuessler of Sidney; 22 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, three brothers, one grandchild and two great grandchildren.
