She passed away at the Nishna Cottage July 29 at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 25 days. She was one of a family of nine children. Read More	Lydia Emmeline, daughter of Sarah and Solomon Garst, was born in Washington county, Jonesboro, Tenn., Aug. 4, 1870. She passed away at the Nishna Cottage July 29 at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 25 days. She was one of a family of nine children. She was a member of the Brethren church, having joined in Tennessee as a young girl. She was united in marriage to John Beals Feb, 14, 1897. To this union nine children were born. Three sons preceded her in death, Robert, Ray and Dale. Mrs. Beals was a devoted wife and a loving mother, Her sweet disposition and concern for all made her greatly loved by all who knew her. She was very brave through sorrow and patient through her long illness. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband John; her sons, Marion of Malvern, John and Dallas of Edgar, Mont., Max of Crete, Neb.; her daughters, Mrs. William Staten of Glenwood and Mrs. Vaughn Hoover of Malvern; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two sisters; two brothers; nieces, nephews and a host of friends. She was a good kind woman who never thought or spoke ill of anyone. Mr. and Mrs. Beats had lived in Malvern 36 years. And now that she has heard God's call and slipped away at his sweet voice, know we'll meet again some day And once again, our hearts rejoice. Funeral services were held Aug. 1 at 2:30 p. me at Mansfield Funeral home, the Rev. Wayne Bass officiated. Casket bearers were Darrell Frederickson, Clifford Cheny, Charles Shere, Albert Craig, Harold Culver and Frank Hertz. Caring for the flowers were Mrs. Albert Craig and Mrs. Charles Shere. Mrs. Richard Henderson, soloist, sang "Sweet By and By" and "Saved by Grace," with Mrs. J. A. Kline at the piano. Interment was in the Malvern cemetery. Coming from a distance for their Grandmother Beals' services were Mr. and Mrs. Donald Beals and Kay, High Hill, Mo.; Rev. and Mrs. Howard Hays, Waukee; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Beals, Mrs. Fern Beals and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Culver, Red Oak; Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Cheny, Jayne and David, Sidney; Mrs. Bonnie Beals, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Blackman and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Jones, Council Bluff, Mr. and Mrs. William Staten, Glenwood.
