Description	:	Mrs. Lydia Fike for more than fifty years a resident of this community passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Cash Woods, last Wednesday. Mrs. Fike had been in poor health for some time and was removed to the home of her daughter about five weeks ago. Read More	Mrs. Lydia Fike for more than fifty years a resident of this community passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Cash Woods, last Wednesday. Mrs. Fike had been in poor health for some time and was removed to the home of her daughter about five weeks ago. Lydia Keim was born April 19, 1854 in Somerset County, Pa., and passed away November 14, 1934, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. an Mrs. Cash Woods where she had been tenderly cared for the past five weeks. She was married to Mahlon Fike September 14, 1873 at Addison, Pa., where they made their home until 1881 when they came to Kansas and located on Rock Creek. To this union were born three children, Charley of Valley Falls, Susie of Sabetha, and Ross, who preceded his mother in death 16 years ago, eight grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Fike was one of a family eleven children of whom only two sisters an one brother survive, Mrs. Susan Wyman of California, Mrs. Maggie Sellars of Sabetha and Peter Keim of Payetta, Idaho. Mrs. Fike became a member of the Brethren church when a young girl and had always retained her membership. Aunt Lydia, as called by so many, will be greatly missed by both young and old as so much of her time was spent striving to please and do for others. Funeral services were held at the Church of the Brethren Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock, Rev. Robert Sink officiating. Burial was made in the Sabetha cemetery. The pallbearers were Ed Hoover, Henry Bailey, Robert Heikes, Del Bestwick, Loren Flott, and Gut Orr, old neighbors and friends of the deceased. Music was furnished by a quartet composed of E. S. Baskett, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Lichty and Mrs. Carl Hess. ---The Sabetha Herald, Wed., Nov. 21, 1934
