She died immediately after nine last Saturday morning. Mrs. Stubben had but a very brief time before death conversed with her sister, Mrs. Edward J.Huigens and her daughter, Thelma Stubben, who is attending school in Creighton. No evidence of premonition of death was indicated at the time of conversation, yet within an hour thereafter, Mrs. Stubben's death was announced. The mother, Mrs. Anna Seiler and three sisters, Mrs. Charles Bonge, Mrs. Emil Koepke and Mrs. Ed Huigens, residing in Creighton, were greatly overcome with grief. Lydia Seiler was born at Griswold, Iowa, February 11, 1885, being exactly 43 years of age at the time of death. With her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Seiler, she came from Griswold to South Dakota, residing there four years, thereafter, residing in Sioux City for about a year, recently moving to Knox county. Twenty three years ago, she was married to Edward Stubben and to this family, seven children were born, five girls and two boys, the youngest of whom is three years old. The family resided at Niobrara for several years, thereafter, moving to the farm home seven miles north of Winnetoon, where residence was maintained up to time of death. Relatives of the deceased include the mother, Mrs. Anna Seiler of Creighton; two brothers, Ernest Seiler, Sparta, Fred Seiler, Casper, Wyo; four sisters, Mrs. Julius Lafrenz, Center, Mrs. Charles Bonge, Mrs. Emil Koepke and Mrs. Edward J. Huigens of Creighton. Mrs. Stubben was an affectionate woman of excellent character, whose devotion to family was extreme. A sadness prevails because of her taking by death at a time when a family of loving children placed dependence on the mother. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock from the Methodist church. The obsequies were conducted by Rev. E. Nye of Spencer. The church was filled with friends, who came to pay their last respects to the deceased. An extremely large crown was in attendance from Niobrara, where Mrs. Stubben lived so many years and this in itself attested the esteem she was held by home folks. The remains were interred in Greenwood cemetery.
