Burial will be at the Bethesda Church Cemetery section in the Ideal Cemetery in Huron, South Dakota. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-9 p.m. at the Kuhler Funeral Home. Lydia was born on April 13, 1900 to Joshua and Barbara (Tschetter) Stahl near Bridgewater, South Dakota. As a child in 1901 she moved to Beadle County to the new family farm with her parents, brother, and sisters. Here she helped with work on the farm and attended Bethel Church. Upon her confession of faith in Jesus Christ she was baptized by Rev. J.M. Tschetter at an early age and joined the Bethel Church near Yale, South Dakota. On October 27, 1919 she married David J. Fast. Together they spent 69 years and four months, all in various places in Beadle County, except for five years at Mora, Minnesota from 1933 to 1938. On February 15, 1947 Lydia became a charter member of Bethesda Church of Huron. In 1969 David and Lydia observed their 50th wedding anniversary and in 1979 they observed their 60th wedding anniversary at Bethesda Church. Lydia was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Jimmy, born in Mora, Minnesota; three sisters, Maria, Justina, and Anna and one brother, Paul J. Survivors include, her husband, David J Fast of Huron; two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Ethel) Hofer and Bernice Fast, both of Huron: Three sons, Benjamin and his wife Kathryn Fast of Sioux Falls, Wesley and his wife Genevieve Fast of Iroquois, Robert and his wife Myrna Fast of Yale. Nineteen grandchildren, thirty-eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, one brother Joshua B Stahl of Yale, and one sister, Katherine (Katie) Stahl Tschetter of Huron
