Funeral services were conducted from the Evangelical United Brethren church with Rev. H. S. Tool officiating. Music was by the church choir and the pallbearers were the Overfelts' six sons. Interment was in Mountain View. Besides her husband, Mrs. Overfelt is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Ethel) Lyon of Spokane, Wash., and Mrs. Edwin (Florence) Fisher of Yakima, Wash., six sons, Glen of Livingston, Walter of Springdale, Emmett and Ervin of Big Timber, Leo of Great Falls, and Harry of Ventura, Calif; also a grandson, Victor Doyle, now in the army stationed in the Orient, whom the Overfelts raised following the death of his mother, Mrs. Victor (Mamie) Doyle, shortly after his birth. There are 12 other grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Overfelt was born Lydia S. Brooks in Redwood, Va., on December 28, 1871, and she spent her girlhood there. On February 17, 1892, she was married to Hugh Overvolt. The family then moved to Missouri and in 1901 came to Sweet Grass county, locating at Grey Cliff. In 1913, they moved onto the Ben Clark ranch near Springdale, Mr. Overfelt being foreman for the Briggs-Ellis company there and later at their ranch across the Yellowstone from Big Timber, now owned by Elmer Arneson. In 1918, they purchased a ranch on Big Timber creek and later an adjoining place, constructing both homes on the ranches and they lived there until they moved to town four years ago.
