Description	:	Lyle Albert Anderson was born in Conrad, Montana October 1st, 1913. He was one of two sons born to Inga Opdahl and Magnus Anderson. Lyle grew up in the Rudyard community and attended country school north of town. Following his formal education he worked with his father on the family farm. Read More	Lyle Albert Anderson was born in Conrad, Montana October 1st, 1913. He was one of two sons born to Inga Opdahl and Magnus Anderson. Lyle grew up in the Rudyard community and attended country school north of town. Following his formal education he worked with his father on the family farm. At the outbreak of World War II, Lyle enlisted in the U.S. Army. He achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant and served in the African/Italy campaigns. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Montana. He married Velva Phillips in Rudyard November 25th, 1945. He purchased a farm north of town, and has lived and worked there from that time on. Velva died March 30th, 1989. Lyle was recently receiving medical care at Northern Montana Hospital in Havre, and he died there the morning of Wednesday, November 21st. He was 77 years old. Lyle had been a long-time member of the Havre Masonic and Shrine lodges. He had served on the Hill County Airport Board and the Northern Montana Hospital Board. For many years during the winter months he worked for the A.S.C.S. office in Havre. In his younger years Lyle maintained a private pilot's license and loved flying. He was an avid spectator sports fan. He enjoyed traveling and visiting with people. His greatest loves in life were his family and farm. Lyle is survived by four sons, Dennis of Rudyard, Tyrone of Helena, Terry of Kalispell, and Darwin of Rudyard; one daughter, Corrine Twedt of Rudyard; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death not only by his wife and parents, but also by a granddaughter and his brother Russell. Memorial services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 24th, at Our Savior'S Lutheran Church in Rudyard. Ushers were Bob Toner, Richard Fisher and Robin Toner. Old friends listed as honorary bearers included Don Koefod, Clarence Lynch, Morris Ewald, Walt Hovee, Dr. Stuart MacKenzie, Walt Hensley, Mark Widdis, Dick Ditmar, Clarence Ritter, Morris Smith and Allen Kolstad.
