The polio was of the bulbar type and proved fatal. Lyle Vincent Hall, the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hall, was born at Geneva, Neb., October 30, 1924. He spent the greater part of his life in the Geneva community, where he was highly respected as a young man of excellent character. He attended the Geneva schools and graduated with the high school class of 1941. May 27, 1944, he and Miss Marian Irene Kauk, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Kauk, were united in marriage at the Kauk home in Sutton. This marriage was blessed with two children, Dennis Dean, three, and Dixie Lee, five. Except for a short residence at Loveland, Col., they made Geneva their home. The past year Lyle had been in charge of Culligan Service in this territory. Lyle grew up under the influence of the Geneva Methodist church. He attended the Sunday school and united in membership under the pastorate of Rev. W. H. Shoaf. The church, in which the entire family has membership, extends its mantle of comfort about their stricken home. Services were held at the church Sunday afternoon, October 5, at 2 o'clock. Dr. F. E. Pfoutz gave the memorial tribute. A quartet composed of Vaughn Fulton, Lloyd London, C. M. Humphrey and Richard Wagner sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "In the Garden." Miss Gayle Walton was at the organ. Pallbearers were John Broke, Harold Gergen, Frederick Kelch, Fred A. Nunns Jr., William Spencer and Kenneth Taylor. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The immediate family, which mourns the untimely death of an honorable son and a devoted husband and father, are his wife and two children, the father and mother, and two sisters, Mrs. Derrel Hutchens and Mrs. William Robinson. There also survive nieces and nephews, many other relatives and a great company of friends who mourn the loss of one beloved. The Nebraska Signal October 9th, 1952 page 1.
