Allison, pastor of the First Methodist church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Badger Creek cemetery. Lyman Hall was born in Perry county, Ohio March 8, 1845. The family moved to Montgomery county, Missouri, in 1856, and two years later Mr. Hall went to Colorado. He was in Canon City when the town had a population of only about 25 families. He spent a winter on a ranch above the Royal Gorge, where with another young man he had a contract to build 320 rods of picket fence, and was there when surveyors went through the gorge surveying for railroads. Interested first in mining, he soon gave it up to go into the cattle business. In 1874 he went back to his home in Montgomery county, Missouri, where he married Miss Mary E. Bahrer. He took his bride to his cattle ranch on Tallahasse Creek, Colorado, and lived there until 1877, when Mr. Hall closed out his business and they came to Lyon county. They settled on a farm on Badger creek, and he continued in the stock business until 1920 when he retired and moved to Emporia. Mrs. Hall died in March, 1920, and since then Mr. Hall had lived with his son, Charles L. Hall, on the home farm. Surviving besides his son are two daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Zaremba, Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Grace P. Vaughn, Los Angeles, Calif., a sister, Miss Cassie Jane Hall, Long Beach, Calif.; a brother, Steven Hall, Los Angeles; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The grandchildren are Mrs. Eva Abbet, Los Angeles, and Hilda, Wanda and Mary Hall, of the home; Paul Zaremba, Kansas City, Mo., and Lyman M. Howard and Glenn Hall, of the home. A daughter, Myrtle Hall, died in 1920, and a son, Finney Hall, died in infancy.
