Description	:	Lynn Arnold Schulz, 49, of Emery, S.D., died Saturday, June 3, 2006 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. Funeral services were held June 6 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church at rural Clayton. Burial was in the church cemetery. Lynn Arnold Schulz was born March 9, 1957 to Susan C. (Schamber) and Arnold G. Schulz, rural Emery. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith and was a lifetime member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Clayton, rural Emery. He graduated from Emery High School and South Dakota State University with a bachelor's degree in agriculture. Burial was in the church cemetery. Lynn Arnold Schulz was born March 9, 1957 to Susan C. (Schamber) and Arnold G. Schulz, rural Emery. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith and was a lifetime member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Clayton, rural Emery. He graduated from Emery High School and South Dakota State University with a bachelor's degree in agriculture. He married Jolene Heezen on March 30, 1984 in Mitchell. In 1985, they moved to the family farm near Emery. Lynn took great pleasure in watching both of his sons excel in academics, music, athletics, 4-H and various church activities. In nineteen years of fatherhood, he never missed a single event. The church played a very important role in Lynn's life. From a young age he had served in many capacities at St. Peter's Church. Singing and music were very important to Lynn. He currently served as vice-president of the Swiss Choral Society of Freeman, sang in the Masterworks Group of Freeman and frequently sang for weddings and other special occasions. Lynn enjoyed farming until 1997, while working for FHA and the Security State Bank in Emery. He quit actively farming when he went to work for Hamaker Crop Insurance Services, before moving on to Martin Group in Mitchell. Most recently he was the coordinator for the Lake Hanson Project through the Soil Conservation Office, as well serving as the vice-president of South Dakota Lakes and Streams. In addition, Lynn enjoyed maintaining several township roads, while still finding time to drive school bus, whether for activities or school and enjoying the chance to help his fellow man. This past winter's heavy snows brought exactly the type of challenge Lynn found interesting. His love of mechanics led Lynn and his sons to the practice of restoring vintage cars, machinery and tractors. Lynn is survived by his wife Jolene, sons, Adam and Nathan, and mother, Susan C. (Schamber) Schulz, all of Emery; sister, Janelle (Norman) Custer of Broken Bow, Neb; father-in-law Sonny (Karen) Heezen of Huron; brothers and sisters-in law, Jerry (Peggy) Heezen of Miller, Jodi (Mike) Evans of Huron, Julie (JR) Marshall of Timber Lake and Justin (Tracy) Heezen of Sioux Falls; many cousins, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.
