She retired from E.I. DuPont with 35 years of service. She was born on July 25, 1924 a daughter of the late Grover and Elizabeth Altice Jefferson. She was also preceded in death her husband, Raymond Chitwood; daughter, Judy Gail Chitwood; four brothers, Victor, Edward, Raymond and Claude Jefferson; five sisters including an infant sister, Ella Cannaday, Gertrude Jones, Viola Reiley and Mae Via. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2016 from Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Home (Town Chapel) with The Rev. Doug Sasser officiating. Interment will follow in the Jefferson Family Cemetery at the home.
