Description	:	Funeral services fro Mae Narigon were held Monday, February 1, 1960 at 2:30 p.m. at the Sutphen Funeral Home with Rev. Paul C. Ellis officiating. Pall bearers included Dennis Neal, Edwin Day, Waldo Penton, Lawrence Focht, M. D. Gunderman, and Martin Taylor. Flower bearers were Cecyl Dunn and Grace Rentley and music was by Verle Peterson, accompanied by Mrs. Frances Wheeler in the following selections, “The Lord’s Prayer” and “Beyond The Sunset.” Concluding service and interment was in the Villisca Cemetery. Mae Cholula Ashmore, eldest daughter of Samuel and Margaret Ashmore, was born in Burlington, Iowa on August 27, 1879 and passed away January 30, 1960. When she was a small child, the family moved to Sioux City, Iowa. At the age of 12, she came with her parents in a covered ago to the North Grove vicinity. On January 16, 1907, she was married to William Narigon of Nodaway, Iowa. He preceded her in death on October 19, 1938. To this union were born seven children. Two of those, Marvin and Mildred passed away in infancy. She was preceded in death by her father, her mother, her twin sister, Maude and two other sisters; also by a step son, Harold Narigon, who passed away December 7, 1959. She is survived by the following children, Floral Murphy and Aurel Kendall of Villisca; Garold of Ft. Madison, Iowa; Dr. Kenneth Narigon of El Monte, California; Major Dwain Narigon of St. Louis, Missouri; and one step daughter, Jessie Kapple of Burlington. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Nina Reed of Villisca; two brothers, John Ashmore of Ozark, Missouri and Guy Ashmore of Derby, Colorado; nine granddaughters and one grandson; 14 great grandchildren.
