Description	:	Mae Stoffers, 86, died Monday, February 25, 2013 at Canton Good Samaritan Center. Mae Ellen Stoffers was born on March 19, 1926 on a farm east of Lennox, SD, the daughter of Ed and Annie (Wumkes) Stoffers. She attended Sherman rural school and grew up on the home farm east of Lennox. Mae farmed the home farm where she raised cattle, chickens and sheep. She also did field work. Read More	Mae Stoffers, 86, died Monday, February 25, 2013 at Canton Good Samaritan Center. Mae Ellen Stoffers was born on March 19, 1926 on a farm east of Lennox, SD, the daughter of Ed and Annie (Wumkes) Stoffers. She attended Sherman rural school and grew up on the home farm east of Lennox. Mae farmed the home farm where she raised cattle, chickens and sheep. She also did field work. Mae was a longtime member of LaValley Presbyterian Church where she was a Sunday School teacher, and always volunteered to help others in need. When LaValley closed Mae transferred her membership to Faith Presbyterian Church and later to Second Reformed Church where she currently was a member. She also served as chairperson of the LaValley Cemetery Board for many years. She was preceded in death by her mother in 1961, her father in 1971, two sisters: Lena Albers in 1979 and Clara Merritt in 2008; three brothers: Edwin Stoffers in 1999, Alverne Stoffers in 2003 and one brother in infancy. Mae is survived by several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; plus special friends: Dallas and Laurie Bitner of Lennox. Services will begin 1:30 p.m. Thursday, February 28 at Second Reformed Church, Lennox, SD
