Description	:	Services were held of Edwin Stoffers who, following a short illness, died Saturday evening, Dec. 11, 1999, at the Lennox Good Samaritan Center, where he had been a resident for only twelve days. He attained the age of 82 years, six months, and ten days. Edwin Stoffers was born on a farm east of Lennox on May 31, 1917, a son of Ed and Annie (Wumkes) Stoffers. He attended rural school and grew up there. On Dec. 30, 1941, he was united in marriage to Frieda Fischer at Hartington, NE. They lived and farmed most of their married life on a farm northwest of Lennox. They moved into Lennox in 1995. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons: and infant son on Oct. 2, 1953, and a 17-year old son, Darwin Stoffers, on Aug. 1, 1962; one sister, Lena Albers, on Aug. 12, 1979. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Frieda; three sons: Erwin Stoffers and his wife, Betty, of New Castle, Wy, LaRon Stoffers and his wife, Paula, of Hurley, SD, and Larry Stoffers of Worthing, SD; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother; Alverne Stoffers of Lennox; two sisters: Clara Merritt and Mae Stoffers, both of Lennox.
