Description	:	SCOTIA- Magdalen V. Sautter 96, of Scotia died Friday Sept. 22, 2000, at the Howard County Hospital in St. Paul. Services will be at 10:30 a. m. Monday at the Scotia Zion Lutheran Church. The Rev. Mark Middendorf will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Scotia. Visitation will be prior to the service at the church Monday. Memorials are suggested to the Scotia Zion Lutheran Church or the Scotia Rescue Unit. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Sautter was born Aug. 5, 1904, in Deshler to Charles and Louisa (Thom) Landgraf. She grew up in the Scotia area and was a life-long member of Zion Lutheran Church. She married Guy Sautter on July 3, 1925, in Scotia. She was a school teacher for many years. She taught at Cotesfield, District 42 School and retired from North Loup Scotia Elementary. Her favorite activities were playing bridge and working at the Scotia Public Library. Survivors include one daughter, Thelma (Mrs. Merlyn) Schudel of Scotia; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Hattie Menze of Bellevue, Wash.; and one brother, Edward Landgraf of Porterville, Calif. She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters, Leona Thomas, Mabel Varner and Esther Splittgerber and an infant brother. ----------------------------- Maggie moved from Deshler to a farm five miles south of Scotia in March of 1908. In 1913 the family moved into Scotia where Maggie attended the Zion Lutheran Church parochial school. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Zion Lutheran. She later worked at the switchboard of the Central Phone Office. She later worked at the Post Office and then began teaching at a school 10 miles south of town. She was a school teacher for 20 years.
