The body is to lie in state after 1 p.m. Tuesday at McKown Funeral Home; there will be no viewing at the church. Born at Osceola March 31, 1888, he was the son of James and Ida Bonner. He was married to Velda S. Owen Aug. 15, 1936, in Columbus. Mr. Bonner, who spent most of his life here, spent two years in the armed forces in World War I and served in France. He taught school for four terms in South Dakota and was a rural letter carrier for 37 years. He became a member of the Methodist church when 13 years of age. Mr. Bonner was commander of Hartman Post No. 84, American Legion in 1936 and served as Platte county commander in 1937. He was a former officer of the 40 & 8. Surviving are his wife; son, Billy L. Bonner, and one granddaughter of San Diego, Calif.; two brothers, Ernest of Canby, Ore., and True of Elston, Mont.; three sisters, Ana Harold of Portland, Ore., Bessie Adkins of Loveland, Colo., and Ellen Ayers of Norfolk. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Walter Bonner of Salt Lake City, Utah, and one sister, Harriet Price of Compton, Calif.
