Description	:	Mallie was born the daughter of Charles (Charlie) Reed Blackston and Stella McAlister on November 15, 1900. Her mother was born August 1882, in Oconee County, S.C. and died about 1907 while Mallie was still a child. Her father and mother were never married and Mallie was given her mother's maiden name at birth. As far as it is known, she never met her biological father. She was the grand-daughter of Andrew Braddock, (11/8/1850 - 2/15/1923) and Mary Massey (6/1854 - 7/4/1912) McAlister. Her grandfather Andrew and an aunt Mary,known as "Mame" raised her and her sister to adulthood. Mame married Fred English in 1911 in Greenville County. Mallie had a half sister, Marie McAlister, who's father was Plummer Allen. Mallie was also the great grand-daughter of Thomas and Susan Massey. She worked in a cotton mill in Greenville, S.C., met and married Thomas "Tom" Fowler. She was the mother of four children, one son, B.F. Fowler and three daughters, Inez Fowler Raines, Lois Fowler Seawright and Wilma Jean Fowler. She lived most of her life in Easley, S.C., the Dacusville Community. She was truly loved by her family, extended family and friends and is greatly missed. She was a roll model for all and believed in simple, honest and clean living. Her faith sustained her daily until her homegoing at the age of 96.
