She passed away at the Tieszen Memorial Home in Marion, SD on January 16, 1997, at the age of 90. Mamie lived in Iowa as a child and later in South Dakota where she met John J. Ensz in Dolton. Read More	wife of John D. Ensz Mamie Elizabeth Perry Ensz was born to Benjamin and Sara Perry in Imogene, Iowa on March 24, 1906. She passed away at the Tieszen Memorial Home in Marion, SD on January 16, 1997, at the age of 90. Mamie lived in Iowa as a child and later in South Dakota where she met John J. Ensz in Dolton. They were married in Papillian, Nebraska on May 28, 1923, and to this union was born seven children. Mamie and Johnny spent most of their lives around the Dolton and Marion areas. Mamie and John were converted in a tent meeting in 1933 at the EMB church. The family attended Bethel Mennonite Church in the early years and later the Missionary Church in Dolton. After moving to Marion, they attended the First Church of God. Mamie was very active in Church activities and especially in the Missions Program. She also taught Sunday School and Bible School for many years. She loved and served the Lord faithfully all of her adult life and the Bible was her very favorite book. Mother was a talented seamstress adn spent many long hours at her sewing machine sewing clothes for her family and others, most of the time without a pattern. Mamie was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers and five sisters, two grandchildren and one daughter-in-law. She is survived by her seven children, Darrel and wife Vera of Bettendorf, Iowa; Evelyn and husband Raymond Butterfield of Marion; Donald of Marion; Marylou Ensz of Richmond, Maine; Elaine and husband Wesley Tschetter of Sioux Falls; Martha Beckman of Marion; Alice and husband Donald Burling of Aurora, Nebraska; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; 1 sister, Ruth Malone of Greeley, CO and one brother, Pete Perry of New Orleans; and a host of relatives and friends. One of Mamie's favorite songs was "I Will Meet You in the Morning, Just Inside the Eastern Gates Over There." Her best loved verse was John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that who-so-ever believeth in Him, should never parish, but have everlasting life." John was waiting for Mamie Just Inside the Eastern Gate over there. Relative and friends are invited for lunch and fellowship at the church following the committal.
