Description	:	Funeral services were held Tuesday at Hitchcock-Smith Chapel for Mrs. Mamie Lavon Lindsey, 68, who died Saturday in Austin, Tex. The Rev. John A. Lippincott, pastor of the United Methodist Church, officiated. Pallbearers were Richard Hersom, Virgil Auten, Milo Shaveland, Orlo Oskvig, John Truelson and Elton Baker. Burial was in Summit Hill Cemetery at Pocahontas. Mrs. Lindsey, the daughter of William Byron and Mary Perrigo, was born April 30, 1909, at Rippey, in Greene County. Burial was in Summit Hill Cemetery at Pocahontas. Mrs. Lindsey, the daughter of William Byron and Mary Perrigo, was born April 30, 1909, at Rippey, in Greene County. She came to this area with her family about 65 years ago. She married Clarence Lindsey May 8, 1932, at Laurens. They farmed near Marathon for a short time, before moving to a farm near Mallard. A member of the United Methodist Church at Mallard, she had been living in Austin for the last 10 years. Survivors include a son, Orien, of Nashville, Tenn.; two daughters, Shirley of Austin, Tex., and Mrs. John (Darlene) Gahm of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; a brother, Voshal Perrigo of Laurens; and a sister, Vera Wolfe of Pocahontas. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, John, Leslie, Loyal and Delmar; and a sister, Mrs. Goldie Pomeroy. [From the Laurens (Iowa) Sun, Thursday, Sept. 22, 1977.
