The remains were taken to Fullerton Sunday for interment. ----------------------------- From a 1905 Nance County, Nebraska, newspaper clipping file, transcribed by Linda Berney: Last Friday night at Cushing, Neb., Manford Thomas, formerly of this place, died of peritonitis. Deceased was about 45 years old and at the time of his death was running a meat market in Cushing and also working part of the time for E. D. Gould. He was taken sick about two weeks previous to his death, having returned but a short time from a trip to Portland and other western points. Mr. Thomas left Fullerton about three years ago and located at Cushing. His remains were brought to Fullerton and the funeral services conducted by Rev. Vallow. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen and we understand carried other life insurance. He leaves a widow, and three children by a former marriage. Manford Thomas, aged 40 years, died at his late home in Cushing Nebr. last Friday evening, the cause of death being typhoid fever. Mr. Thomas had been sick several weeks and was convalescing when some horses started to run away near the house. Manford, in his weak state, attempted to stop the team. The exertion caused a relapse and the end came as a direct result last Friday....
