Her funeral is 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Fort Benton, with burial in Riverside Cemetery. Benton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Marabeth was born July 31, 1918, in Fort Benton, to Oscar Alexander Paul and Mary Elizabeth Morrow Paul. The Paul family raised dairy cows on a farm east of Fort Benton, where it was common for Marabeth to walk, ride a horse or jump in the horse and buggy with her brother, Oscar, as they made their way to school. Marabeth attended school in Fort Benton, graduating in 1936. She later met and married the love of her life, John Davison. They moved to Highwood, where John farmed with his father for a period of time. Marabeth and John moved to Fort Benton and raised a family of five children. John was employed as a mechanic at the LaBarre Garage, while Marabeth stayed home raising and being a loving mother to their children. Marabeth was baptized and confirmed in St. Paul's Episcopal Church and was the oldest living member until her death. She was an active member of St. Paul's Guild and taught Sunday school for several years. She was also a member of the Bethany Chapter No. 42 of the Order of the Eastern Star in Fort Benton for 61 years. Marabeth was employed at the Rexall Drug Store in Fort Benton. She later became a deputy clerk in the Chouteau County Assessor's Office. After retiring, she helped with the bookkeeping at D&K Distributors, owned and operated by her husband, son and Ivan Konen. She was blessed with a green thumb and spent many enjoyable days tending her yard and garden, raising beautiful flowers, apple trees, vegetables and a variety of berries. Marabeth loved music. She was happiest tickling the ivories on her piano or strumming a favorite or two on her guitar, and when she sang her voice lit up a room. Marabeth received a certificate to teach guitar from Eklunds College of Music in Great Falls, Mont. She encouraged each of her children to participate in music at school, church and community functions. She had a deep fondness for the sounds and talents of the Statler Brothers and corresponded with them often. Marabeth celebrated her 90th birthday at the Grand Union in Fort Benton, where she enjoyed family and a multitude of friends. She enjoyed traveling with John in their motor home, always taking their basset hound "Jinx," followed by their bulldog, "Regan." She later received a Westie for Christmas and rightly named him "Statler," after her beloved Statler Brothers. She is survived by her son, John Dean "Jack" Davison and wife Shirley of Dillon; daughters, Shirley Lenington, Roberta Marcussen and husband Terry of Fort Benton, Bernice MacKenzie of Dewey, Ariz., and Georgia Nye and husband Ronald of Twin Bridges, Mont.; a brother, Gordon Paul of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Irma Paul of Helena, Mont.; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren: Charles K. Lenington and Shawn (Joe) Schumacher of Fort Benton, Hayley Lenington-Leray (David) of Great Falls, Robin Marcusson (Denise) of Fort Benton, Roxie Lewis (Ted) and Richele Serfoss (Alan) of Great Falls, RaeLynn Bullach of Gillette, Wyo., John Scott MacKenzie (Shelly) of Phoenix, Ariz., and Holly Lynn MacKenzie of Dewey, Ariz., Ronnie Nye of Helena, Jackie Webb (Terry) of Lewiston, Idaho, and Andy Nye (Susie) of Twin Bridges; 17 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband John; two brothers, Oscar Jr. and George Paul; her parents, Oscar and Mary Paul; and a son-in-law, Charles Lee Lenington.
