SKALLBERG DIES Sad indeed, was the word that spread around town Wednesday morning telling of the death of Marcella Skallberg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Skallberg of Essex, who passed away Wednesday morning, February 15th at 12:30 A.M., following an illness of ten days duration. Pneumonia was the cause of her demise. Marcella was in the sixth grade at the Essex Public School where she was a friend to all the students. Her passing has cast a cloud over the entire room. The last sad rites will be held this afternoon, Friday, at the home commencing at 1:30 P.M., and at the Essex Mission Church at 2:00 P.M., with the pastor, Rev. H. Hultman in charge of the services. Local Mortician, W. O. Carson, is in charge of the services. She leaves to mourn her parents, and one brother, Willard, together with a large number of relatives and friends. "IN MEMORIAM" The grades and high school were suddenly saddened by the death of Marcella Skallberg. She was a member of the sixth grade. She has won many friends by her sweet and sunny disposition. She was a good student and always willing to help someone. She will be greatly missed by the student body especially Miss Peterson's room. As the student body, we wish to extend our sympathy to her relatives and friends in their hour of sorrow. One brother, Willard with the parents survive. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the home and 2 o'clock at the Essex Mission Church, conducted by Rev. H. A Funny Scare One night I hid in the closet when we were going to bed. Mother could not find me. Then when mother and father got in bed, I sneaked in and said, "Boo." They got so frightened. She started confirmation on September 17, 1932. She got sick February 1. She was sick for 2 weeks and died of pneumonia on February 15, 1933 at the age of 12 years, 5 months, and 13 days.
