Marcus "Mac" was born January 23, 1924 in Rockbridge County. He was the last surviving child of Robert Cash McElroy and Connie S. McElroy. He is survived by one son Marc S. McElroy and his wife, Beth of Glasgow; two step-children, Tim Madison of Madison Heights and Stephanie Coffey of Lexington.
