Mrs. Jezewski had been ailing since September 1930, having been in apparently good health up to that time. She had been taking treatments since May for heart trouble, but apparently it was of little help to relieve her. Complications set in which were responsible for the immediate cause of her death. Marcyanna Piontkowski was born in Poland, January 6, 1853. When she was eighteen years of age she came to this country with her parents and three brothers and located in Chicago. She was joined in holy wedlock on the 19th of November 1872 to Leo Jezewski, coming to Nebraska, they settled on Munson Creek in Cotesfield precinct, Howard county, where they farmed for some years. Mr. Jezewski also did blacksmithing in with his farming. Later, Mr. Jezewski went into the saloon business, which he operated for fourteen years. They moved to Ashton in 1898, where Mr. Jezewski preceded his wife in death, passing away in February 1903. Mrs. Jezewski has made her home here since. Nine children were born to this union, Pete, Frank, John, Mike, Anastasia Alex, Omaha; Kate Stellmach, Omaha; Mary Hybner, Omaha; Barbara Topolski, Millard, Neb.; Josie Galczenski, Loup City. All survive their mother except Mike who died in infancy at the age of only two weeks. Besides her children, three brothers, Frank of Omaha, Charles of Denver and Stanley of Ashton, and 33 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren survive her. She had no sisters. Mrs. Jezewski was a member of the Ladies of the Holy Rosary. Mrs. Jezewski was a pleasant old lady, well liked by everyone, who regret the day had to come for her departure from this world, but her faithfulness unto her God above lasted throughout her life clean and religiously and was prepared for her holy reward.
