Description	:	Margaret Amanda Morton, was born December 24, 1846, near Blairsville, Pennsylvania. to John and Ruth Morton. She died December, 1945, in Eureka, Kansas, at the age of 96 years, 11 months, and seven days. On March 28, 1867, she was married to Augustus A. Palmer in Blairsville, Penn. Comming to Kansas the same year, they located on a farm in Allen County. They later moved to the Palmer farm, two miles west of Fall River, and lived there many years. She died December, 1945, in Eureka, Kansas, at the age of 96 years, 11 months, and seven days. On March 28, 1867, she was married to Augustus A. Palmer in Blairsville, Penn. Comming to Kansas the same year, they located on a farm in Allen County. They later moved to the Palmer farm, two miles west of Fall River, and lived there many years. To this union were born eight choldren. Only two survive her, Dr. W.R. Palmer of Lawrence, Kansas, and A.O. Palmer of Kansas City, Missouri. Mrs. Palmer spent the last fourteen years of her life in Harrison, Virginia, with her daughter, Miss Grace Palmer, who taught school there until her death August 8, 1943, at Halstead, Kansas. At an early age Mrs. Palmer united with the church and lived a very devoted christian life. In May 1942, while at Eureka attending the funeral of her daughter, Mrs. T.O. Sears, she fell and fractured her hip from which she never fully recovered. She was cared for in the home of Mrs. Well where she died. Funeral service conducted by Rev. Robt. D. Brodt of the Congregational Church, was held from the Baird Funeral Home in Eureka, Sunday, December 5, at 2:30 p.m. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery. From Eureka Herald 9 December 1943 page 2.
