Description	:	Margaret Currie was born between 1861-1862 in Mono, Ontario. She was the eldest daughter of five (5) children born to Jean Dunlop & Thomas Currie. Margaret married William Rintoul on October 20, 1886 at the age of 24. The couple had two children: Jean Rintoul (1887-1952) and Thomas Morton Rintoul (1889-1963). Margaret tragically died only 3 weeks after giving birth to her son Morton. The inscription on her gravestone indicates that she died at the age of 27 years and 3 months which would mean her date of birth is more likely August 1862. The... The 1891 Canada Census shows William's sister Janet A. Rintoul living with her widowed brother to care for the his two children ages 1 & 3 years. William went on to marry Fanny Armstrong in 1897. Margaret is buried in the Burns Cemetery in Mono where her parents Jeanie Dunlop and Thomas Currie are also buried. Note discrepancy in date of death: inscription states 17 November, 1889 but death certificate indicates 1 November 1889.
