Description	:	Margaret Elizabeth Zanol, 91, a longtime Orondo resident, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 1996, at her home due to heart failure. She was born on Oct. 3, 1904, to Banker J. and Mollie Jane (Ellerman) Whitbeck at Cedar Springs, Mo. As a small child she moved with her family to Dillon, Mont., where she attended school. Her family homesteaded a dryland wheat farm in Dillon until 1922 when they moved to Orondo where they worked in several orchards. She was born on Oct. 3, 1904, to Banker J. and Mollie Jane (Ellerman) Whitbeck at Cedar Springs, Mo. As a small child she moved with her family to Dillon, Mont., where she attended school. Her family homesteaded a dryland wheat farm in Dillon until 1922 when they moved to Orondo where they worked in several orchards. During that same year, she met and married Leonard Zanol on Dec. 29, 1922. They had made their home in Orondo since that time. Over the years they've owned and operated several orchards in the Orondo area. The third generation of Zanols is still operating the family orchard. Mrs. Zanol was a longtime charter member of the Orondo Grange. Survivors include her son, Bill Zanol, Orondo; her daughter, Mrs. Carroll (Elnor Louise) Reid, East Wenatchee; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 16, 1975, two brothers, two sisters and one great-grandchild, David Steichen. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee. MARGARET ELIZABETH ZANOL - Graveside services will be held at the Orondo Cemetery, Saturday morning at 10 o'clock with the Rev. Billy Olds officiating. The interment will follow. At the family's request, the casket will remain closed at all times. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Orondo Cemetery. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley.
