Description	:	Margaret Ellen, second daughter of William and Hannah Slack, was born at Cambridge, Illinois, on October 2, 1873 and departed this life March 22, 1958 at the age of 84 years, 5 months, and 20 days. She was baptized in the Episcopal Church later attending the Methodist Church. At one year of age she moved with her family to a farm near Villisca, Iowa. Read More	Margaret Ellen, second daughter of William and Hannah Slack, was born at Cambridge, Illinois, on October 2, 1873 and departed this life March 22, 1958 at the age of 84 years, 5 months, and 20 days. She was baptized in the Episcopal Church later attending the Methodist Church. At one year of age she moved with her family to a farm near Villisca, Iowa. She resided in that vicinity and in Adams County until moving to Creston in 1944. On September 18, 1898, she was united in marriage to Robert Higgins in Villisca, Iowa. To this union five children were born. One daughter died in infancy. The surviving children are Ray of Creston, Harry of Corning, Hannah and Eula of Creston. Her divine love was for her home and family. She was preceded in death by her husband on November 26, 1931. Also two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Nelson of Fairfield, Iowa and Mrs. Lucy Nelson of Kearney, Nebraska. She leaves to mourn her passing four children, four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 25, 1958 at 2 p.m. from the Keating and Beemer Funeral Home in Creston, Iowa, Rev. Francis L. Brockman, pastor of the First Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in the Villisca Cemetery. Music was furnished by Mrs. Mary Alice Hart, organist and Esther and Arthur Burkhalter, vocalist. Nephews who acted as pall bearers were Donald fisher, Clyde Lewis, E. H. Wagaman, B. F. Long, Henry Sparks, and Orvis Wagaman. Villisca Review, Thursday, April 3, 1958, page 4
