After her marriage and when children grown, moved to Paola, Miami County, KS with some of the children and their families. From the Pomona Republican September 27, 1906: "Mrs. Ed Parks, Sr. met with a severe accident last Friday noon. While working on the back porch of their house when was attacked with a (about three or four words here are not readable) trying to go down the steps she fell, her breast and face striking a large rock. Her face struck the rough edge of the rock badly bruising and cutting it. Dr. Johnson was called at once and dressed the wounds. At present she is improving slowly." Obit: 04 Oct 1906 Pomona (Kansas) Republican, Thu page 4: "Mrs. Margaret (Gould) Parks was born on Prince Edward Island (near Nova Scotia) on April 27, 1843 and died September 29, 1906 at Pomona, Kansas. When quite young, she moved with her parents to DeKalb County, Illinois. She was married to Edward Parks February 20, 1866. They lived in Illinois until 1896 when they moved to Paola, Kansas, where they lived five years and then came to their home northeast of Pomona. Mrs. Parks united with the Methodist Church early in life and has remained a constant member of the same until her death. She leaves a husband, six sons and one daughter to mourn her departure. The funeral services were held from the home and the remains were laid to rest in the Woodlawn cemetery."
