At twelve years of age, she came with her parents to live in Dorchester, Nebraska, where, on September 23, 1896, she was united in marriage to Edgar B. Joy. Huegel was born on April 18, 1875 in Shelby county, Ohio, and spent there the period of her early childhood. At twelve years of age, she came with her parents to live in Dorchester, Nebraska, where, on September 23, 1896, she was united in marriage to Edgar B. Joy. The couple resided in Dorchester for the next fifteen years, and in York, Nebraska, for two years, moving subsequently to Fairmont on March 1, 1913, where they have lived ever since. Mrs. Joy, when a girl, united with the United Brethren Church at Pleasant Hill, Nebraska. She also belonged to the lodge of the Royal Neighbors of America, and was a very devoted and active member of the West Blue Aid Society. Self-sacrificingly devoted to her home and family, she will be missed by her loved ones and by her large circle of acquaintances. An unexpected turn came to the illness which she suffered lately, and she passed from us on Wednesday morning, May 3, 193, at the age of fifty-eight years and fifteen days. Mourning her passing are her husband and three children, Mrs. Gladys Martin, Raymond B. Joy and Mrs. Letha Porter; two grandchildren, Harold Martin and Bobbie Porter, all of Fairmont. Also surviving are her aged mother, Mrs. Regina Huegal; two brothers; two sisters and many other relatives. The father of Mrs. Joy; two sisters; and her little grandson, Lyle Joy, preceded her in death some years ago. Funeral services were held at the home and in the Methodist church on Friday afternoon, May 5, the pastor Rev. J. Henry Stitt, officiating. The church was filled with many friends and neighbors, besides the immediate relatives and a large delegation of ladies of the Royal Neighbors formed a guard of honor. Mesdames Quilan and Carney, with Oliver Moul and Alden McFadden sang favorite hymns, with the solo: "Face to Face" sung by Mr. Moul. Pallbearers were Messrs. George Baugh, Conrad Keil, O.E. Kness, W.G. Real Herman Brown and L.H. Real. Interment was made in Fairmont cemetery. Fillmore Chronicle (Fairmont) May 11th, 1933 page 2. ---------------------------- Daughter of J.
