She Died at Council Bluffs, Iowa, on Monday, June 20. Funeral services for Miss Margaret Keefe, who died on Monday, June 29, at St. Bernard's hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa, after being fortified with the last sacraments of the Holy Mother church, were held from the Thomas Flynn home in Center township to St. Mary's Catholic church, David City, where mass was celebrated by Rev. E. Jaworowski. The pallbearers were Michael, Leo and Thomas Flynn, Daniel Keefe, Jos. Farrell and John J. Keefe, nephews of the deceased. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery, David City. In attendance at the funeral from elsewhere were Mr. and Mrs. John Mahoney, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Mahoney, Sylvester Mahoney and William Beecham from Palmyra, William Mahoney from Lincoln, David Powers, John Powers, Thomas Powers, Sr., and Mrs. J. P. Ward from Ulysses, Miss Nora Kaveney and Mr. and Mrs. Rice from Linwood, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Stava from Bruno and Mrs. Frances Jacob, Sr., Mrs. Francis Stanek and son and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rejda and children from Brainard. Margaret Keefe was born on June 6, 1876, a daughter of Daniel and Mary Keefe, on the old homestead in East Butler county. There she attended public school and grew to womanhood, assisting her parents in their home. They moved to David City in 1908 and she continued her work in the home until her health failed after the death of her father, and she then went to St. Bernard's hospital for treatment. She made her home with the Sisters of St. Bernard, by whom she was highly esteemed and well liked. She bore her last illness with Christian patience and fortitude. Miss Keefe is survived by one sister, Mrs. Thomas Flynn and family, one brother, J. J. Keefe and family, and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Annie Keefe and sons, Daniel and Gene. ___ Card of Thanks - We extend our sincere thanks to all those who assisted us in any way at time of our sister's funeral, also for floral offerings and spiritual bouquets.
