Thank you ------------------------------------------ Mrs. Margaret Wester, 71, lifelong resident of the Gilbertville community, died at 1:10 a.m. Monday in the home of a son, Leonard D. Nemmers, 918 Grant Avenue, Waterloo. In failing health since last spring, she had made her home with her son in recent months. Margaret Mangrich was born November 5, 1864, daughter of John Margaret Mangrich, pioneer Gilbertville settlers. She was married September 25, 1882 to John P. Nemmers, brother of the late Rev. J. N. Nemmers, pastor of Immaculate Conception Church, Gilbertville, for 52 years. To that union eight children were born, John, Anna, Susan, Caecilia, who died at age 18 years old, Leonard, Edith, and two who died in infancy, Mr. Nemmers who conducted the general store in Gilbertville, died in 1893. Mrs. Nemmers continued the business until November 27, 1899, when she was married to Peter Wester. To that union one daughter, Emily was born. Mr. Wester died April 4, 1938. Mrs. Wester leaves two sons, John P. Nemmers, Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Leonard, Waterloo, four daughters, Mrs. Edward Ebener, Winnipeg, Canada, Anna Kascht, 1202 Sixth Street West, Waterloo, Mrs. O. J. Ellinger, Mendota, Illinois and Mrs. C. K. Eckhart, Chicago, Illinois and 22 grandchildren. Funeral services were at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Church of which she was a lifelong member. Officiating were Rev. William J. Cremer, pastor and Rev. Joseph Zion of Dubuque, Iowa a friend of the family and Rev. Roman Schares, Ossian, Iowa. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
