CONROY After six weeks of lingering illness, Mrs. Margaret Conroy passed away May 19 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. M. Craney, in Omaha, at the age of 76 years. She was born in New York state July 8, 1852, and was the daughter of Patrick and Bridget O'Donnell, with whom she came to Wisconsin and grew to womanhood. There she married John Conroy. They came west to Shelby county, Iowa, later. This union was blessed with seven children. Her husband and two daughters preceded her in death. She moved from her farm to Atlantic, where she lived for many years and for the last several years had lived with her daughter in Omaha where she died. She is survived by her only son, T. J. Conroy, Atlantic, Mrs. J. H. Kimball, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. M. E. Murphy, Walnut; Mrs. Mrs. J. M. Craney and Mrs. Mary Goeken, of Omaha. Fifteen great grandchildren and one aged sister, Mrs. Lawrence McEvoy, of Stuart, also survive. Mrs. Conroy was a kind and loving mother, a good and loyal neighbor, and performed many worthy acts of charity, one of which she was proud being the donation of a fund for three memorial chapels built in distant lands in memory of her husband and other deceased members of her family. She also was perpetual member of the Catholic church extension. Funeral services were held at St. Cecelia cathedral in Omaha, May 21, with requiem high mass, the Rev. Father Graham officiating and burial was in the Catholic cemetery at Walnut. Pallbearers were Luke Kelley and R. O. Craney of Omaha, Charles Waters of Atlantic, William Nilan, William Murphy and D.
