She worked as a seamstress in the early 1900's. Wedding: At the SS. Peter and Paul's Catholic church in this city at seven o'clock this morning in the presence of the relatives of the contracting parties, the Rev. Father Daly pronounced the beautiful nuptial mass of the Catholic church which made Miss Bridget F. Conroy of this city, daughter of Mrs. Margaret Conroy, and Joseph M. Craney of Walnut, man and wife. The groom is a popular resident of Walnut. Both are worthy people and they take with them into their married life the best wishes of a host of friends with whom the News is glad to be numbered. (Atlantic Telegraph April 27, 1909) Obituary: Funeral services for Mrs. Joe M. Craney were held at the Catholic church in Walnut, Monday morning at 9:30 0'clock. The Requiem high mass was read by the Rev. Father T. P. Murphy of Des Moines assisted by Father Cashman of Avoca. Interment was made in the Catholic Pall bearers were John Hamilton, Donald Graham, Thomas Murphy, Vincent Goeken, Bernard Murphy and Charles Wallace. Out-of-town relatives and friends attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Kimball and Mary Ellen of Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Rose Craney, Mrs. Clarence Craney, Mrs. Gasten, Mrs. Julia Stevens, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Boisen, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Hurst and Mrs. Emma Wates of Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. Will Conroy and Irene of Earlham; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Pray of Dexter; Miss Elsie Grulke of Durrant; and Gerhart Goeken of Atlantic. Mrs. Bridget F. Conroy Craney was born in Delavan, Wis., September 18, 1871 and died at the home of her niece, Mrs. Harry Wallace Thursday, October 8, after a lingering illness. On April 26, 1909 she was married to Joe M. Craney, who preceded her in death, March 31, 1941. Since that time Mrs. Craney has been making her home with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wallace. She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Mary Goeken of Walnut; Mrs. Mike Murphy of Marne; and Mrs. Joe Kimball of Cedar Rapids; one brother, Thomas Conroy of Atlantic; an adopted brother, Joe Hamilton of Marne; also, several nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.
