Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Davis, Jr., Dickerson, and Mr. Stuart Wilson Angevine, son of Mrs. Pearl D. Angevine, Richmond, Va., Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. Rev. Carter Gilliss officiated at the single ring ceremony before an altar banked with gladioli. The church was decorated with settings of gladioli and lighted tapers. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white ballerina-length dress fashioned with a Chantilly lace bodice and short jacket and a nylon tulle skirt. She carried a white Bible topped with a white orchid. Mrs. John W. Davis, 3rd, sister-in-law of the bride, served as matron of honor and was the bride's only attendant. She wore a pale blue shade nylon and marquisette dress in ballerina length, a pale blue picture hat and carried an old-fashioned bouquet of mixed summer flowers. Mr. John H. Salleber, Richmond, Va., served as best man. Ushers were Messers Frederick H. Smith, Elmhurst, Long Island, N.Y. and Paul Murphy, Washington. Mrs. Frank Davis, Rockville, gave an organ recital of nuptial music, including "I Love You Truly," "Ave Maria," "Because," and the "Lord's Prayer." Mrs Davis also played the traditional processional and recessional. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Davis wore a blue lace and taffeta street length dress and champagne-colored accessories. Mrs. Angevine wore a mauve-colored street-length dress with matching hat and gloves. Both mothers wore white orchids. A reception followed the ceremony at the home of the bride for wedding guests, many attending from Illinois, New York City, New York, and Virginia. Among these were included Mrs. Donald F. Coffey, Chicago, Ill., formerly of Hyattstown; Misses Rita Conner and Martha Hassill, New York City; Mr. Roy Burn, New York City; and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard I. Davis, Longview, Texas. The bride attended Frederick High School and the University of Maryland. At the time of her marriage, she was an employe of the government in Washington. Mr. Angevine attended schools in Richmond, Va. and graduated from Strayer's College of Accountany, Washington. He is now associated with the Department of Justice, New York. On return from a wedding trip to Canada, Mr. and Mrs. Angevine will reside on Long Island, N.Y. Obituary Daily Press (Williamsburg, VA) - November 13, 2013 Margaret (Peggy) Davis Angevine died November 11, 2013 in Williamsburg, VA. She was predeceased by her husband, Stuart W. Angevine; parents John W. Davis II and Margaret Van Sise Davis; and brother, Thomas Magruder. She was born July 29, 1924 in Frederick, MD. Peggy worked at the Civil Aeronautics Association, and as a homemaker, and then administrative assistant before retiring to Gloucester, VA. Peggy was a Cub Scout den leader, treasurer for the Girl Scouts, and held a variety of other volunteer positions in support of children's activities. Peggy enjoyed bowling, traveling, and entertaining family and friends. Recently, Peggy resided at Chambrel where she was a Chambrel Ambassador and member of several committees. Peggy leaves to cherish her memories her two children, Linda Angevine Malley (James D. Malley) and James Eugene Angevine (Evie Angevine N. Newell); her four grandchildren Rebecca E. Malley, Joshua T. Malley, Margaret S. Angevine, and Joseph S. Angevine; and surviving brothers, Walter Magruder, John Davis, and Leonord Davis. A memorial service will be held at Chambrel in Williamsburg at 10 AM on Saturday, November 16.
