Description	:	Margie Juanita Atkinson, 93, of Holt Summit passed away Saturday, April 9, 2011, at the Summit Ville Nursing Home. She was born February 15, 1918, the daughter of Elmer Wade Howser and Nettie Carder in Miller County, on March 4, 1937. She was united in marriage to Harold Victor Atkinson who preceded her in death on January 20, 1975. Juanita was a 1936 graduate of Eldon High School. She worked for the state of Missouri Liquor Control and the office of administration from which she retired in 1978. She was a member of the Union Baptist Church.... Read More	Margie Juanita Atkinson, 93, of Holt Summit passed away Saturday, April 9, 2011, at the Summit Ville Nursing Home. She was born February 15, 1918, the daughter of Elmer Wade Howser and Nettie Carder in Miller County, on March 4, 1937. She was united in marriage to Harold Victor Atkinson who preceded her in death on January 20, 1975. Juanita was a 1936 graduate of Eldon High School. She worked for the state of Missouri Liquor Control and the office of administration from which she retired in 1978. She was a member of the Union Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School for 52 years, which included Olean Baptist Church, Cedar City Baptist, and the Union Hill Baptist Church. She is survived by five children, Donald Atkinson and wife Carol, Gene Atkinson and wife Susan, Mary Ann Ruth, Janis Convery and husband Jim, all of Jefferson City, Mo.; and Roger Atkinson and wife Linda of Chesterfield, MO. Nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Jerold Atkinson, and a brother Kermit Howser. Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2001, at the Slater Miller Family Funeral Home in Holt Summit. Additional visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2001, at the Union Hill Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 1 a.m. with Rev. Frank Whitney officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at the Allen Cemetery near Olean. Memorials may be made to the Union Hill Baptist Church, the Organ Transplant Organization or the Donors choice of charity.
