Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock on Wednesday at Shives Funeral Home. Mrs. Morgan died Monday, September 18, 2006 at Shadowmoss Plantation Alzheimer's and Memory Care Residence in Savannah, GA. Born February 1, 1919, she was the daughter of the late John and Daisey Sloan Branham. Mrs. Morgan had lived the last 2 ½ years in Meldrim, GA where she enjoyed fishing and trips to the mountains and the Amish country. She enjoyed gospel music and telling stories of her life. Her love was to sit with her pictures and tell stories of each one. Ruth was retired from civil service and was a charter member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Senior Ladies Sunday School class. Mrs. Morgan was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Curtis Morgan; son, Benny Morgan; daughter, Earline Morgan Wilson; and brothers, J.W. Branham and Leonard Branham. Survivors include her three sons, J.C. Morgan and wife Mary of Elgin, SC, Purvis Morgan of Elgin, SC, Rusty Morgan and wife Robin of Meldrim, Ga; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. One great-great-granddaughter; sisters, Maude (Jim) Cherry of Lugoff, SC, Leona Smith of Camden, SC, Juanita (Marion) Grover of Elgin.
