Description	:	OBITUARY-The Letcher Chronical, February 9, 1922 Died at her home in Letcher, SD Wednesday February 1, 1922, Margaret C.W. Seward, aged 68 years and eight days. Margaret Cecelia Welch was born in Cleveland, Ohio, January 23, 1854. She moved with her parents to Wisconsin and from there to Iowa where she grew to womanhood. She was married to John Seward at Mason City, Iowa in August 1874 and to this union was born six children, three who are dead and three who are living. The latter are Mrs. O.J. Seward, aged 68 years and eight days. Margaret Cecelia Welch was born in Cleveland, Ohio, January 23, 1854. She moved with her parents to Wisconsin and from there to Iowa where she grew to womanhood. She was married to John Seward at Mason City, Iowa in August 1874 and to this union was born six children, three who are dead and three who are living. The latter are Mrs. O.J. Murphy of Letcher SD; Mrs. E.T. Kelly of Mason City, Iowa and J.J. Seward of Letcher. Besides three children she leaves seven grandchildren. She moved with her husband and small children to Letcher, SD in 1885, and passed through the hard pioneer days of that time. She lived at Letcher until her death which took place Wednesday, February 1 at 9:15 a.m. She died surrounded by her children, receiving the last sacraments of her church and thanking God for a happy death. The funeral service was held at the St. Scholastica's Church of which she was a devout member, on Friday, February 3rd, Rev. Father Breene officiating, and her remains were laid to rest in the St. Scholastica's cemetery west of town. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, John Seward, her children and grand-children, two brothers, Peter Welch and William Welch, both of Mitchell and one sister, Mrs. E.B. Wilds of Letcher. The Chronical extends sympathy to the bereaved family and friends.
