She was the younger of two children in the family. She lived in Bellwood and Foley, until the death of her father in 1918. Read More	MILLER, MARGURETE BELL—Margurete Bell Reemts Miller was born to John Barthold Reemts and Bertha Cornelia Baumann Reemts on February 26, 1912, at Bellwood, and passed away January 15, 1987, at Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva, at the age of 74 years, 10 months and 20 days. She was the younger of two children in the family. She lived in Bellwood and Foley, until the death of her father in 1918. The family then moved to Geneva where she spent the rest of her life except for a brief return to Bellwood. She went to Geneva Elementary School and High School, graduating in 1929. She then worked for a short time in the Hested store and in the beauty shop in Knudson’s Ladies Ready-To-Wear in Geneva. Margurete was married to C. Howard Miller of Geneva, on February 20, 1930, in Seneca Ks., and to them two children were born. The first three years of her marriage to Howard, they lived with his parents, while he traveled working for the Capitol Bridge Construction Company of Lincoln. She spent the rest of her married life helping Howard with his farming and livestock business in Fillmore county. In 1953 they moved from their farm northwest of Geneva to Geneva, where she lived until her death. She was a dedicated companion to Howard in their farming operation and continued to have an active interest in agriculture after his death. Until her death she appreciated knowing the progress and changes in the techniques of farming. Marguerites’ life was centered around her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her faith in God was her tower of strength. She was quick to appreciate her many joys and blessings and was willing to give a helping hand to whoever needed her. She was a kind, gracious and loving person, and truly made her house a home in which everyone was always welcome. She was baptized, confirmed and received into the Methodist church in Geneva in 1922. Her activities included working in and holding various offices in United Methodist Women, Rebekah Lodge, Eastern Star, Geneva Woman’s Club, TAK Kensington, and West Blue Extension Club. She enjoyed all types of sporting activities, playing cards, knitting and crocheting, and entertaining her friends and family and traveling. She loved flowers with the rose being her favorite. Margurete was preceded in death by her parents, John B. and Bertha; husband, Howard; her brother Ralph Reemts, brother-in-law, Waldo Schupbach; and step-fathers, James Mikkelson and William Langhorst. She is survived by her daughter, Joann Elene and son-in-law, Charles Paul Curtiss of Lincoln; son Donald Roy and daughter-in-law, Kathryn Sue Ewalt Miller of Geneva; grandchildren, Nancy Curtiss Sajevic and husband, Joseph of Hastings, Steven Curtiss and wife, Holly, of Hastings, Patrician Curtiss Wilson and husband, Robert Jr., of Kearney, Thomas Curtiss and wife Audrey, of Diamond Bar, Cal., Debra Miller Krull and husband Kelly, of Seward, Max Miller and wife, Sharon of Fairmont, and Jan Miller O’Brien and husband, Patrick, of Shickley; ten great-grandchildren, Jill, Jenny and Julie Sajevic of Hastings, Mattie Jo Curtiss of Hastings, Charlie Wilson of Kearney, Allison, J. J. and Andrea Krull of Seward and Margie and Mark Miller of Fairmont; sisters-in-law, Ruth Reemts, of Kimball, Merle Schupbach of Paradise, Cal., and Mildred Farmer of Geneva; and brother-in-law, Paul Farmer of Geneva; also a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted from the United Methodist church, Geneva, on Monday, January 19, with Rev. Cal Leeds officiating. Judy Ackland accompanied Kelly Eich and Curt Prater who sang, “In the Garden,” “Amazing Grace” and “The Lord’s Prayer.” Pallbearers were Steve and Tom Curtis, Kelly Krull, Max Miller, Pat O’Brien, Joe Sajevic and Bob Wilson Jr. Interment was in the Geneva public cemetery.
