Description	:	The Sutton News (Sutton, NE), Thursday, February 15, 1945 Marie Benzel was born in Kolb, Russia on December 16, 1870 and passed away on Tuesday morning, Febr. 6, 1945 at the age of 74 years, 1 month and 21 days. In 1890 she was united in marriage with Adolph Eckhardt who preceded her in death in 1906. A daughter, Pauline, also preceded her in death in April, 1922. In the summer of 1906 she remarried to Peter Schwab. To this union were born three sons: Floyd, Raymond and Harry. Harry died in infancy. In the summer of 1906 she remarried to Peter Schwab. To this union were born three sons: Floyd, Raymond and Harry. Harry died in infancy. On March 6, 1940 her husband, Peter Schwab, passed away. They had lived on their farm south of Sutton for thirty-four years. Mrs. Schwab was a member of the Evangelical church in which she took a faithful part in keeping with her life's work. Those left to mourn her departure include one sister, Mrs. Peter Meininger, Scottsbluff, Nebraska; three step-sons and one step-daughter: Henry H. Schwab, Alameda, Calif.; William Schwab, Pocatello, Iddaho (sic); Ben Schwab, Sutton, Nebr.; Mrs. Henry H. Scheierman, Sutton, Nebr., and sons Adolph Eckhardt, Sutton, Nebraska, Floyd Schwab, San Jose, Calif., and Raymond Schwab, Sutton, Nebr. Twenty-two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also mourn her departing. Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon at the Evangelical church, following services at the Raymond Schwab home at 1:30 with Rev. A. Langenberg in charge. Burial was in the Sutton cemetery (sic). The family wishes to express their appreciation to the friends and neighbors for their kindness during these last days. Also for the beautiful flowers. The following out-of-town relatives attended the funeral services for Mrs. Peter Schwab, Floyd Schwab, San Jose, Calif., Henry Schwab, Alameda, Calif., Henry Meininger, Mrs. Dave Grosamicke, Scottsbluff, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Walters, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Lebsack, Loveland, Colo., Capt. Homer Eckhardt, San Francisco, Calif., Mrs. Tina Schiebel, Henry and Marie Schiebel, Grand Island, Mrs. Jake Wiederspahn, Mrs. August Valentine, Hastings, Mr. and Mrs. Earl England, Eldorado, and Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Wilkenson, Norman, Nebr.
