JACOB STEELE HELD ON TUESDAY Former Wyckoff Woman Passed Away in Paterson Sunday Funeral services for Mrs. Maria Elizabeth Steele were held on Tuesday afternoon from her late home at 26S Seventeenth avenue, Paterson, at 2 o'clock and at the Wyckoff Gospel church at 2:30. Interment was made in the family plot in the Wyckoff cemetery. Mrs. Steele passed away on Sunday following an illness of nearly three years caused by complications due to her advanced age. She was eighty-one years old. In spite of her suffering she has been able to be about at times, and last winter she spent several months in Florida, and seemed to greatly benefit by the change of climate. Her passing on Sunday came as a shock to her family, as she passed away in sleep. Mrs. Steele was born in the old farm house on what is now Spring Lake farm, the daughter of the late Henry P. and Sally (Mowerson) Winters, and spent practically her entire life in Wyckoff. For a number of years she lived with her parents at Grove Villa, and she made many life-long friends in this section of the county. She was the widow of the late Jacob H. Steele, a prominent builder of Paterson, and shortly after her marriage returned to Wyckoff to make her home. About fifteen years ago, after the death of Mr. Steele, she moved to Paterson. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Sadie Dupont, of Paterson; Mrs. Henrietta S. Gallant, of Wyckoff: Mrs. Bertha Cole, of Paterson; Mrs. Elizabeth Macintosh, of Hawthorne, and one son, Jacob H.
