Description	:	Chester Herald-Aug. 13, 1942 Mary Louise Kuhlmann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Block, and widow of Mr. Henry E. Kuhlmann, was born at Oconee, Ill., on March 31, 1858. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. On July 11, 1878 she entered into holy wedlock with Henry E. Kuhlmann at Broadlands, Ill. Later she moved with her husband to Belvidere, Nebraska. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. On July 11, 1878 she entered into holy wedlock with Henry E. Kuhlmann at Broadlands, Ill. Later she moved with her husband to Belvidere, Nebraska. Subsequently she lived with her husband on farms west of Byron then west of Chester, then east of Chester where her husband died on February 22, 1922. The later years of her life she spent with her children. After being bedfast for eight weeks she died at the home of her son, John at Colorado Springs at 8:30 A. M. on Monday, August 3rd, 1942, at the age of 84 years. During her last illness she was frequently visited by her pastor, the Rev. Walter A. Enge, who also adminstered the holy sacrament of the Lord's supper to her. Her life on earth was enriched by eight children. One son, Edward, preceded his father in death dying on August 4, 1906 at the age of 18 years. Another child died in infancy. Leaving five sons and one daughter to mourn her loss, also 19 grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, one brother and one sister, beside a large number of other relatives. There is an empty room in our home today, For our darling Mother has passed away. She finished her work and finished it well, Then went away with Jesus to dwell. Oh 'tis so sad when we think today That she has gone away and gone to stay. Her smiling face we shall see no more Till we meet on the bright and golden shore. Her room now stands empty; her body at rest; And that was the place she always loved best, She left her dear family and friends here to weep, While closing her eyes in her long last sleep, But Jesus, dear Jesus, now comforts our heart And tells us we're going where we never will part.
