Kelley, the daughter of Milton and Cecil May (Crooks) Delp, was born October 9, 1926 at Scranton, Iowa and departed this life May 8, 2010 at the Greene Country Medical Center in Jefferson, Iowa. She lived her life to the age of 83 years, 6 months and 13 days. Marian attended school through the 8th grade. On April 1, 1944, Marian Delp was united in marriage to Henry D. Kelley, the daughter of Milton and Cecil May (Crooks) Delp, was born October 9, 1926 at Scranton, Iowa and departed this life May 8, 2010 at the Greene Country Medical Center in Jefferson, Iowa. She lived her life to the age of 83 years, 6 months and 13 days. Marian attended school through the 8th grade. On April 1, 1944, Marian Delp was united in marriage to Henry D. Kelley at the Christian Church in Jefferson. To this union was born a son, Henry A. Kelley. The couple farmed northwest of Paton for several years before moving to an acreage near Adel. They later returned to Paton and Henry operated the D.X. Service Station and ran a tank wagon service. In 1989, they moved to a home in Lanyon. Henry passed away in 2000 and Marian later moved to make her home in Jefferson. In 2008, she moved to the Panora Nursing Home. Marian loved nature, sewing and cooking. She loved her family and grandchildren. Left to mourn her passing are her son, Henry A. and his wife, Marilyn of Waukee, grandchildren; Kelsey Kelley of Ames and Henry Joseph Kelley of Waukee, brothers; Arthur Delp of Fort Dodge and Warren Delp of Ogden and sisters: Margarete Hall of Jefferson, Eleanor Little of Panora and Martha Walston of Perry. Those who preceded her in death were her parents, husband, brothers; Delmer, Jacob, Ronald and Leland and sisters; Dorothy and Esther. A celebration of Marian's life was held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, May 24, 2010, at the Brown Funeral Home in Jefferson with Pastor Rick Hamilton officiating with burial in the Dawson Township Cemetery west of Paton, Iowa. Musical selections, "How Great Thou Art" and "The Old Rugged Cross" were sung by soloist Doyle Carlson and accompanied by organist, Carson Griffith. Casket bearers were Jack Williams, Dennis Hall, Henry J. Kelley, Douglas Delp, Patrick Kelley and Andrew Hamilton. Jefferson Herald May 20, 2010
