Description	:	Mariana Cornish was born July 31, 1926 to Philip and Ona Ethel Stilson on the family farm in Diamond, WA, the fourth of seven children. She quietly passed from this life on April 28, 2019 in her home in Bremerton, WA Mariana enjoyed her childhood on the farm and graduated from Colfax High School. Read More	Mariana Cornish was born July 31, 1926 to Philip and Ona Ethel Stilson on the family farm in Diamond, WA, the fourth of seven children. She quietly passed from this life on April 28, 2019 in her home in Bremerton, WA Mariana enjoyed her childhood on the farm and graduated from Colfax High School. She was visiting Hamilton, MT with her sister-in-law when she met Charles H. Cornish, whom she married in June 1946. They enjoyed 68 years together, residing in Hamilton, Diamond, Newport, Bremerton, Sequim, and back to Bremerton. During that time, she held several positions, including as an electrical helper at PSNS during WWII, as a Medical Receptionist Instructor at Career Training Institute and an LPN at Francis Haddon Morgan Center. Mariana and Charlie will be remembered for their warm hospitality and open door, caring for everyone, sharing a meal and a friendly ear. She was also active in the local PTA, “Mother Singers”, 4-H leader - Kitsap Kennel Klub, and the Good Sam’s. Her friends and family have been the beneficiaries of her talents as a seamstress and quilter, rose gardener, genealogist, and painter. She also enjoyed collecting and restoring antiques and reading. Mariana was predeceased by her parents, her husband Charlie, and siblings Robert, LeRoy, June and Paul. She is survived by her son, Philip (Beth) of Bremerton and daughter, Mary (Mark) Cornish-Hicks of Warrenton, VA. Her grandchildren Mark Cornish, Brian Cornish, Brenda (Michael) Roberts, Jennifer Hubbell (Kelly Bounds), and Jason Johnson will carry her memory with them, as will her four great-grandchildren, Alex and Dylan Hubbell, and Nathan and James Roberts. She is also survived by two brothers, Dick (Laura) Stilson of Lewiston, ID and Charles Stilson of Portland, OR; sister-in-law Stella Kratofil of Spokane, WA; extended family Lianne Steele and Helen LaCelle; and numerous nieces and nephews.
