Marie was born on August 17, 1922, in Chickasaw County, the daughter of Severt S. Johnson and Martha (Kimble) Johnson. She was baptized September 3, 1922 at Jerico, Iowa, and attended school at New Hampton, Iowa. On April 3rd of 1938, Marie was united in marriage to Delbert E. Bellinger, in Cresco, Iowa. Read More	Marie Aleta Bellinger, 89, of Waverly, died at Allen Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, of a heart attack and pneumonia. Marie was born on August 17, 1922, in Chickasaw County, the daughter of Severt S. Johnson and Martha (Kimble) Johnson. She was baptized September 3, 1922 at Jerico, Iowa, and attended school at New Hampton, Iowa. On April 3rd of 1938, Marie was united in marriage to Delbert E. Bellinger, in Cresco, Iowa. Marie and Delbert enjoyed nearly 58 years of marriage before his death in March of 1996. Marie was previously employed by Hartman's Locker in Plainfield and had lived at her present home near Waverly since 1957. Marie was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church - Western Douglas near Plainfield. Family was always the first priority for Marie. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, baking, and watching soap operas. Marie is survived by six children, Janet (Ron) Bilharz of Nashua, Iowa; Nancy Lusson of Edmonds, Washington; Gary (Bonnie) Bellinger of Plainfield, Iowa; Rick (Roxanne) Bellinger of Clarksville, Iowa; Dean Bellinger of Waverly, Iowa; and Brenda Deetz of Fredericksburg, Iowa; one son-in-law, Dave Farmer of Yates Center, Kansas; one daughter-in-law, Barb Bellinger of Dakota City, Iowa; 65 grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; one brother Gene (Beverly) Johnson; and two sisters Lorrine (Gene) Bennor, and Anna Mae (Ron) Hurd. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Delbert, in 1996; sons Merlin, Keith and Kenneth (infancy); daughters Sandra Bailey and Helen Farmer; and sisters, Edith Brummond, Darlene McDonald, Thelma Howe. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 11, 2012, at St. John's Lutheran Church – Western Douglas near Plainfield, with Rev. Kim Thacker presiding. Burial will be in Harlington Cemetery in Waverly. Public visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2012, at the Funeral Home in Waverly. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or American Cancer Society.
