Description	:	Obituary: Marie Nevin - Big Timber Pioneer - March 7, 1968 Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday for Mrs. Marie Nevin at the Lowry Chapel with Father John Haligowski officiating. Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery. Marie Nevin, 91, passed away Wednesday morning, Feb. 28, at the Pioneer Home, where she had been living almost from the time it was opened to patients in July 1965. She had been in failing health for some time. Music was by Mrs. A.J. Lindley singing "Beyond The Sunset" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere." Mrs. Myrtle Sell was organist. Nevin of Big Timber, Robert C. Nevin of Whitehall, Henry E. and Charles P. Jones of Seattle, Ozzie Nevin Jr. of Seattle and Erwin H. Mack of Big Timber. Mrs. Nevin was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nickolas Tintinger, born March 18, 1877, in Iowa. She came to Montana in the fall of 1885 with her family on an emigrant train and settled on a homestead on Big Timber Creek. There were 13 children in the family. She attended school in Big Timber and Bozeman. She married David Nevin in October 1899 in Utah and returned to ranch on Otter Creek until 1910 when they bought a ranch on the Sweet Grass where they resided until his death in 1942. She then moved to Big Timber to make her home. David and Marie Nevin were the parents of 11 children, three of whom preceded her in death. Survivors include one sister, Susan Dodge of Missoula, three sons, Oswald N. and Thomas H. of Big Timber and David D. of Spokane, Wash., five daughters, Mrs. Al (Dorothy) Hankins, Billings, Mrs. Robert (Thressa) Clark and Mrs. Gilbert (Lillian) Smith of Big Timber, Mrs. Elsie Jones of Winifred and Mrs. Ben (Clare) Smith of Witchita Falls, Tex., twenty-five grandchildren, thirty-six great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren. Mrs. Nevin was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and a member of the Sweet Grass Pioneer Society. Contributed by Julia Kinsey and Donna Harkness
