Description	:	Funeral services for Mrs. Henry Buehler were held at the Methodist church Friday at 2:30 p.m. following a brief service at the home on south Walnut street, with the Rev. Wayne C. Stauffer officiating. "Goin' Home" and "Abide With Me" were beautifully sung by Barbara Mattes and Dorothy Kistler, with Mrs. Wayne Stauffer as accompanist. The pallbearers were nephew of the deceased, Melvin and Lawrence Dannenberg of Storm Lake; Warren Hix of Alta; Robert Dannenberg, Marion and George Hix of Odebolt. Edgar, Arthur; Mr. and Mrs. Warren Hix, Alta; Mrs. Flora Hartley, Battle Creek. Marie Caroline Dannenberg, daughter of August and Louise Dannenberg, was born at Odebolt Dec. 21, 1879, and died at her home in Odebolt last Wednesday afternoon, May 20, 1942, having attained the age of 62 years, four months, and 29 days. Mrs. Buehler had been an asthma sufferer for years, but was not bedfast until May 3, when she had an attack of pleura-pneumonia. This was cleared up later, and death was caused by embolism. Her life has been lived and her work has been done in the vicinity of her birth. Her early life was spent on the farm but the last 25 years she has been a resident of Odebolt, living at the home on South Walnut street. She was united in marriage with Henry Buehler, Feb. 26, 1902, at Odebolt. Five children were born to this union, all of whom remain to cherish her memory. They are Mildred (Mrs. O.C. Weber) of Poplar Bluffs, Mo.; Louise of Florence, Ariz.; Dorothy (Mrs. Gilbert Breon), Odebolt; Floyd, who is in the U.S. Navy, now stationed at Pensacola, Fla., and Virginia, Iowa State college student, at Ames. Mrs. Buehler was a valued member of the Odebolt Methodist church to which she transferred from the Richland Methodist church. She was also a member of the local W.S.C.S. and the Isis club. She loved flowers and received much pleasure in working with, and sharing her plants with others. She was a home-loving mother and devoted many wintry hours to various kinds of needle work and crocheting, as she has many beautiful articles to manifest her accomplishments. Besides her husband and children, she is survived by one sister, Mrs. H.R. Stanzel, LaHarpe, Kan.; two brothers, F.C. Dannenberg, Kansas City, Mo.; and E.B. Dannenberg of Odebolt; five half-brothers and sisters, Henry Rabe and Mrs. Sophia Meadder of Odebolt; Mrs. Louise Reuber, Pasadena, Cal.; W.F. Rabe, Auburn; and A.E. Dannenberg of Storm Lake; an uncle, Fred Wegener of Hull, and four grandchildren, besides many other relatives and a host of friends. Taken from The Odebolt Chronicle 28 May 1942.
