Description	:	Marie Evelyn (Novak) Bossemeyer was born in McCool Junction, NE. on July 27, 1922 to Edward and Frances Novak. Marie departed to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 8, 2011 from her home in Lincoln, NE. Marie attended grade school and graduated from McCool (NE.) High School in 1940. She attended York (NE.) College and taught in the York county, NE. rural schools for three years. Marie departed to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 8, 2011 from her home in Lincoln, NE. Marie attended grade school and graduated from McCool (NE.) High School in 1940. She attended York (NE.) College and taught in the York county, NE. rural schools for three years. She was a secretary at Fairmont AAF, Geneva, Nebraska, working in the Special Services Office in base headquarters, from 1943 to November 1945. Deciding that she needed more business training, Marie then attended the Lincoln (NE.) School of Commerce. After graduating in 1946, she worked at the York State Bank in York, NE. as secretary to president, Dean Sack for the next four years. Marie was united in marriage with Alan Bossemeyer on October 15, 1950 in York and moved to her new home in Superior, NE. Her two children were born there, Linda Ann and Frank E., the family resided there until 1965. Then Marie and Alan purchased the Blue Valley Drive Inn at Crete, NE. Marie helped her husband for thirteen years working as manager, bookkeeper, soda jerk, errand girl, as well as working at her home. In Superior, NE. Marie worked in the American Legion Auxiliary and became a 50-year member in 2001. After moving to Crete she also worked as a volunteer at the Lincoln VA Medical Center, Lincoln, NE. along with other Crete (NE.) auxiliary volunteers. She was a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star, Olive Chapter #63 at Superior, NE. and served as the Worthy Matron in 1963. She also was Recorder of the Social Order of Beauceant in 1954 at Superior, NE. Marie served as leader of the Brownie Girl Scouts one year, Den Mother of the Cub Scouts one years and taught Sunday School at Superior (NE.) Methodist Church for a year. She and Alan also helped to supervise the Methodist Youth Group for several years. After joining the Avion Travelcade Club in 1987, Marie served as secretary/treasure of the Nebraska unit for two terms, 1989 and 1998. She has been a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Lincoln, NE. since January 1998. Marie and Alan celebrated their 50th Golden Wedding Anniversary on October 15, 2000 with family and friends. Surviving are: husband, Alan Bossemeyer of Lincoln, NE.; daughter, Linda and son-in-law Bill Surline; son, Frank E. Bossemeyer and daughter-in-law Cristi; brother and sister-in-law Layton and Betty Novak of Sioux Falls S.D.; 3 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Marie was preceded in death by: parents and brothers, Fred, Edmund and William Novak and sister-in-laws Leola and Velma Novak. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Superior, NE.
