Death came following a month's illness, three weeks of which were spent in the Orchard hospital and where she died. Death was attributed to the flu and complications, which developed from a carbuncle on the spine. Miss Sukup spent her entire life in Knox county, with the exception of three years, when she was employed at Chicago. She was born at Walnut, west of Creighton, on March 8, 1886 and died at Orchard on June 23, 1942 at the age of 56 years, 3 months and 15 days. She attended the rural school in the "Walnut district. With her parents, she had lived at Bloomfield, Osmond and Creighton. After the death of her mother, which occurred over two years ago, she kept house for her brother, Frank Sukup, up to the time of her passing. The deceased also assisted in the rearing and caring for her niece, Rose Marie Brown, who had previously resided with her grandparents before their death. A sister, Mrs. Ed (Theresa) Wagner, also preceded her in death. A Christian woman, benevolent in spirit and charitable to all, her demise will be lamented in the community. Left to mourn are three brothers, Frank and Joe of Creighton and Andrew of Venus, one sister, Mrs. Anna Kohlar of Walthill and her niece, Rose Marie Brown. Funeral services will be held on Friday morning at 9:30 from St. Ludger Catholic church. The pastor, Father Windolph, will preside.
